Headquarters of the colonial administration

This architectural unit was built at the end of the 19th century by Victor Ballot, first Governor of the Colony of Dahomey, and is situated in the heart of the palace to mark his domination over the Fon kingdom.

The residence and administrative area of this colonial building is used today for exhibiting bas-reliefs which have been cut out of their original positions and restored.
